Counselling

Counselling is a type of talking therapy that gives you the opportunity to speak one-to-one with a qualified professional about anything that may be affecting your wellbeing – whether it’s work-related stress, personal challenges, or something else.

Our counselling sessions are free, confidential, non-judgemental. They are focused on helping you explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive space. Our compassionate and professionally qualified therapists are highly experienced and understand the daily challenges staff face.

We offer up to six sessions of therapy, each lasting up to 50 minutes. They can be in person, on the phone or by video call.

Digital Mental Health Support

SilverCloud is our free digital mental health platform offering evidence-based, self-guided and therapist-supported programmes for conditions such as stress, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, and phobias.

Our mental health and wellbeing e-learning programmes are available at any time of day, all you need is an internet connection and a web browser / app.

It’s easy to contact us

Our phone line is open 24/7 at 0116 254 4388. You can also chat with us live, Monday to Thursday, 1-5 pm.

When you reach out to us online, we will arrange for a longer conversation to get to the heart of the matter that concerns you. Following a phone consultation, which takes about 25 minutes, we will explore with you whether you would prefer counselling or offer you our other psychological tools such as coach-led mental health e-learning, or self-help guides.

Our promise

Confidentiality is crucial to our reputation. We won’t inform your team, and your sessions won’t appear on health records. Your information stays secure and private, shared only with your explicit consent, except in rare cases of legal obligations or safety concerns.Â
